Hundreds converge at new Grove oval
THE launch of Devlins Road Football Oval at Ocean Grove at the weekend was a huge success, attracting about 500 guests.
AFL champion and Oakdene Estate ambassador Cameron Ling attended the event on Sunday, where there was an array of activities on offer, including the Collendina Cobras footy clinic, Ocean Grove Bowls Club’s practice, and K rock’s Kick for Cash competition.
Guests lined up for their chance to win $1,000 with young Ollie kicking the ball into the drum and bagging the cash prize.
There was also live entertainment and music, face painting, balloon twisting, a jumping castle as well as free food and beverages on offer.
Ocean Grove CFA held a sausage sizzle with over 400 sausages given away, Big Softy provided upward of 550 ice creams and local family business Bean Cravin’ gave away about 250 coffees.
Devlins Road Football Oval is the new oval at Oakdene Estate and is a place for family and friends to come together and play some kick-to-kick in a relaxed and friendly environment.
