MOREMAC Property Group hosted more than 300 community members at an outdoor screening of family-friendly movie Minions: Rise of Gru at its development The Point in Point Lonsdale last Saturday.

Residents and members of wider Point Lonsdale packed the free event at The Point’s parklands on a perfect summer’s evening as school holidays came to an end.

The developer provided guests the opportunity to vote on which movie would screen on the evening, with the attendees electing for the latest addition to the Despicable Me franchise.

Moremac sales and marketing director Lachlan Moore said the events had become an increasingly popular staple over recent years.

“We’re really pleased with the turnout at The Point outdoor cinema this year. It was great to see some families from outside of the estate come down as well.”

This year’s screening is the first time Point Lonsdale residents living outside of the estate were invited, in an effort to further grow the community, and all were provided with free popcorn, pasta and ice-cream for the screening.

“The Point itself has a strong sense of community, which we actively try to foster in all of our developments with initiatives like this, so to now be able to share that with wider Point Lonsdale is a great indication of how far the estate has come,” Mr Moore said.

Moremac prioritises hosting events such as free film screenings across all their estates to build relationships among the communities and foster neighbourhoods for the residents.
