Hundreds turn out for Arcare’s community market
MORE than 500 people attended the official opening of Arcare Portarlington’s extension last month.
The milestone was celebrated with a bcommunity market day hosted by local makers and growers.
Rugged-up attendees made a beeline for the new café to warm up with a tea or coffee before perusing the market stalls, which included tea, wine, candles, lollies, cheese, prints, juice, baked goods, honey and preserves.
Guests also learnt the art of flower arranging and produced handmade cards with the guidance of Arcare Portarlington clients and the lifestyle team.
For the pet lovers in the community, Cherished Pets gave out free health checks to guests’ dogs and Melbourne Pet Photography took free photos of pets and their owners.
During the day, attendees also took a tour of recently-renovated Arcare Portarlington, which featured the new café, hair salon, private dining room, lounge and suites.
