Women’s sailing program
ROYAL Geelong Yacht Club’s Women In Sailing Program began around five years ago, with 12 mature ladies involved with the Pacer boats, training and racing. All the ladies had a lot of fun learning the craft and making some great friendships in the process. At this stage, training and racing are on a designated week night starting at 6pm in the current daylight saving and there are two ladies in each Pacer. If you are interested in learning, contact the club on 52293705 or Women in Sailing representative Jan Jones on 0432678548.

Donate tools to fire victims
JIRRAHLINGA Koala and Wildlife Sanctuary in Barwon Heads is calling on locals to check their sheds for any tools to donate. With the bush fire in Bunyip and the western suburbs of Melbourne, the CFA are doing a marvellous job in controlling these fires but once these fires are exhausted the residents could do with some help. Jirrahlinga is trying to organise multiple “tool bags” – the idea behind the bag is that when the property owners return home a tool bag will assist in minor repairs on fences or property damage. Items of particular interest are hammers, screw drivers, saws, pliers and wire cutters. If you can help drop these items into Jirrahlinga in Taits Road, or contact the office on 52542484 during office hours.
