“Eggciting” Easter egg hunt
WALLINGTON’S WRG will host an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday April 13, which will support the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal and Gateways Geelong. The event will include an Easter Egg Hunt with Cadbury Chocolate Eggs (kids only), entry is a gold coin donation (per child) to the Good Friday Appeal, Easter Bunny, sausage sizzle from 11am to 1pm, and prizes are up for grabs. Fishing competition at Swan Bay
SWAN Bay Holiday Park has organised an Annual Easter Fishing Competition which will be held on Easter Sunday. There will be live music from 3pm, official weigh-in at the barbecue area, no later than 4pm. The focus of the day is community building and enjoying family-friendly fun. There will also be a colouring competition for different age groups that can be picked up from the office. The rules are that fish must be cleaned and scaled, must be caught in Swan Bay on the day (including jetty) and must be of legal size. Age groups are under 10, 10-17, and open. Martha Lonsdale focus of talk
ANNE Marsden will shine a fresh light on our fledgling settlement and uncover fragments about early women’s accomplishments when she gives a talk in Queenscliff next week. On Thursday April 18, attendees will follow the adventures of Martha Lonsdale who came to Port Phillip as a young wife and mother. Not only did Martha care for the Lonsdales’ large brood of children in a harsh environment, but set an example for later women arrivals. Anne, author of And the Women Came Too, will speak at Queenscliff Uniting Church Hall on Thursday April 18 at 10am for 10.30am.

Easter fun for all ages
THE Bellarine Youth Action Crew will host Easter fun for all ages today (Thursday April 11) at the Potato Shed. Held between 4pm and 7pm, the event will include best hat prizes, origami making, henna, fun activities and a barbecue. There will also be an Easter Egg Hunt for different age groups. This event is run and delivered by the Bellarine Youth Action Crew, who are aged between 12 and 25 years. This is a drug, alcohol and smoke free event. No homophobia, transphobia, racism or sexism tolerated.
