Asphalting works at night on Anglesea Road
VICROADS has announced important night asphalting works on Anglesea Road and the Mt Duneed Road roundabout from April 7-17. Works are scheduled from 8pm to 5am, weather permitting. The works will be under traffic management with lane closures. Minor delays are expected. All drivers should adhere to the 40kmh speed limit throughout the work site for the safety of our workers and all road users. If you see any hazards on our roads, please report them to the VicRoads Traffic Management Centre on 13 11 70, open 24/7. In an emergency, phone Triple Zero (000).

Lorne Country Club to host golf tournament
THE Lorne Country Club will host the 2019 Great Ocean Road Ambrose Tournament on April 19. The tournament will have two events – an 18-Hole 4 person mixed Ambrose – shotgun start at 12.30pm (All players must have Australian handicap), entry $360 per team; and a 9 Hole 4 person mixed Ambrose – shotgun start at 9.30am (Non-handicap players welcome – max 27), entry $180 per team. The total trophy pool is valued at $2,000. Finger food before and after golf all included in entry fee. The day will conclude at around 5.30pm and family and friends are welcome for the presentations and entertainment.

GBN breakfast to discuss growth
CITY of Greater Geelong director of planning and development Gareth Smith will be the guest speaker at the next Geelong Business Network breakfast, which will be about “planning for sustainable development” and will be held next month. The event host will be People@Work manager Louise Rau, who will explore the close links between development and employment opportunities and growth. The GBN breakfast will be held at Little Creatures Brewery in Geelong on May 7 from 7.15am for a 7.30am start. Tickets are $59. Grants to improve veterans’ facilities
THE state government is inviting local organisations that support veterans to apply now for grants of up to $200,000 to spruce up their buildings and facilities. Member for Western Victoria Gayle Tierney said the new funding round for the Veterans Capital Works Grant Program would help eligible organisations fund facility improvements, so they can provide better support and services to their members. Interested organisations can apply for up to $50,000 through the Veterans Minor Capital Works Grant Program or up to $200,000 through the Veterans Major Capital Works Grant Program.
