Community information session

THE state government is investing $2.5 million to improve safety at the intersection of Orton Street and Presidents Avenue in Ocean Grove. Regional Roads Victoria is holding a community information session on Tuesday February 19 at the Ocean Grove Pavilion. Dropin any time between 5pm and 7pm to view the plans and ask the project team your questions. Local knowledge will play an important role in identifying concerns and issues at this intersection. Community feedback will inform the investigation, along with crash data and analysis of travel data including vehicle volumes and directions.

Lease negotiations complete

THE City of Greater Geelong (COGG) has taken on the future management of Parks Hall in Portarlington. COGG took over the lease of the hall from Bellarine Bayside in January, which also includes the relocation of the Portarlington Neighbourhood House. The administration of all Parks Hall venue bookings will be the responsibility of COGG and will not be delegated to any other organisation. Indented Head Community Hall remains under the management of Bellarine Bayside (this includes booking of the venue).

Roundabout night works

IMPORTANT night works are taking place on the construction of the Marshalltown Road, Barwon Heads Road, Horseshoe Bend Road and Tannery Road roundabout. To minimise disruption, lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40kmh will be in place this week and minor delays should be expected while asphalt works take place. Works will be staged and operate between 8pm and 5am. Day works will continue on the site. All drivers should adhere to the 40kmh speed limit throughout the work site for the safety of our workers and all road users.
