EDITOR of The Big Issue magazine Amy Hetherington will be the guest speaker at Bellarine Community Health’s International Women’s Day event next month.

Amy is an experienced journalist who has worked as an editor, sub-editor, reporter, photo editor and columnist for more than 20 years across several well-known magazines.

She also spent time as the business development director for a content agency, working throughout Australia, China and Hong Kong.

She will share her experiences heading an organisation that supports and creates job opportunities for marginalised people at a time when the spotlight is on ensuring there is greater gender balance.

Almost 50,000 Australian women are homeless every night and the largest single cause of homelessness in Australia is domestic and family violence. Bellarine Community Health is donating the $10 entry fee to The Big Issue – tickets to this event are limited.

The event is at the Point Lonsdale Community Health Centre site on Wednesday March 6 from 5.30pm to 7pm.

A light supper will be provided. Tickets can be booked through TryBooking at trybooking.com/BALVQ.
