The proposed design for the upgrade of the Lake Avenue Reserve playground in Ocean Grove.

THE City of Greater Geelong is seeking feedback on the designs of 11 new playgrounds to be upgraded this financial year.

More than $500,000 will be spent on new equipment and upgrades this year at park and district playgrounds, stretching from Portarlington and Ocean Grove on the Bellarine to Lara and Corio in the north.

Residents can provide feedback on designs for upgrades to local playgrounds, including Lake Avenue Reserve in Ocean Grove and Hawthorne Reserve in Portarlington.

Mayor Bruce Harwood said council’s investment into playground infrastructure reflected the importance it placed on making sure Greater Geelong families had fantastic local options for play.

“The 280-plus playgrounds across our municipality only add to the liveability of our region,” he said.

Playground upgrades will begin in early 2019 and are expected to be completed by April 2019.

Have your say on any of these playgrounds by Monday October 22 at the website at geelongaustralia.com.au/yoursay.
