JAX Tyres & Auto Geelong has done its part for the Bellarine’s most vulnerable people by helping to stock this year’s Christmas hampers from the Drysdale Family Support Foodbank.

Aiming to do whatever they could to help make Christmas as comfortable and enjoyable as possible for the community, the JAX Tyres & Auto Geelong team packed 50 hampers full of Christmas gifts for parents, children, and those set to be spending the holiday season alone.

The hampers were filled with luxe gifts hand-picked to put smiles on faces, including premium soaps, gourmet cookies, hand sanitiser and more, and were packed at the JAX Tyres & Auto store by franchisees Travis and Kirsten MacDonald.

The team delivers the hampers to the Drysdale Community Church. From there, the hampers will make their way to people on the Bellarine Peninsula most in need of a helping hand this Christmas.

“We get so much from being part of the wonderful community in and around Geelong, that giving something back to those most in need at this time of year is a gesture that we’re eager to make,” Mr McDonald said.

“We know it’s been another tough year for lots of people thanks to COVID, and Christmas can make things even harder for many, so if we can play a small part in putting a smile on people’s faces, we’re proud to do what we can.

“Drysdale Community Church dedicates its time all year, and during the festive season, to delivering and packing food, essential items and toys for those doing it tough all over the Bellarine Peninsula.

“To be included in their important service to the community was a no-brainer and a real feeling of joy to give back.”

Other businesses and organisations that contributed to the hampers this year included Give Where You Live, Bendigo Bank, Christian College Bellarine, William Sheahan Funerals, Bellarine Springs, Church By The Bay, The Wave Church, Drysdale Uniting Church, Central Baptist Church, St Ignatius College Bellarine, Drysdale CWA, Sea Change Quilters, Noble Foods Leopold, Clifton Spring Bowling Club, Portarlington Golf Club, Leopold Sportsmans Club, Exceptional Health, Soroptimists International, Pharmacy For Less Curlewis, Springdale Community Garden and Central Baptist Community Garden, and there were also several individual donors.
