Ocean Grove Preschool kids get moving with educator Dianne Gardner.

ALL four-year-old kinder groups at Ocean Grove Preschool are treated to weekly music sessions by one of their local preschool educators, Diane Gardner.
Ms Gardner’s instrument of choice is her voice and she loves to share this passion with her students.
“This is my 25th year of pre school/early years education and I’ve always shared my love for music and movement,” Ms Gardner said.
“I enjoy working with all the children in the centre and I believe I can bring that little extra with me.
“I want to learn new songs, movement and music to present to them, it is my passion and I love it!”
Classes run for approximately 30 minutes, beginning with a warm-up song with voice and movement.
Children then explore their voices with echo songs accompanied by clapping and body percussion.
They start to discover rhythm and sound. Is it fast or slow? Quiet or loud?
Ms Gardner also encourages dance and movement, using props such as scarves and simple instruments.
The highly engaging music classes improve the pre-schoolers physical development making them more aware of their voices and their bodies.
This enhances their strength, co-ordination and space perception.
The children’s minds get a workout too improving their concentration, listening skills and creative thinking.
