Premier Daniel Andrews and Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville, along with Drysdale football and soccer players, give a high-five to celebrate the $5 million announcement.

A RE-ELECTED Andrews Labor Government has pledged to inject more than $5.5 million into two Bellarine projects.

During a visit to the Bellarine on Friday, Premier Daniel Andrews announced that if re-elected in
November he would deliver $5 million towards stage two of the Drysdale Sports Precinct, and invest $550,000 to build a covered walkway from the beachfront to the ferry berths on Portarlington Pier.

Mr Andrews also announced a guaranteed $50,000 to fast-track planning on an updated masterplan to determine stage two of the sporting precinct and future stages.

Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville said she had worked in close partnership with the Drysdale sporting clubs to ensure the funding and building of stage one, and was pleased her government had committed to fund stage two and deliver $50,000 to finalise the masterplan.

“The community has been unsuccessful in getting this critical money from council, so this will ensure there are no delays in delivering stage two,” she said.

Ms Neville also said the new covered walkway in Portarlington would make sure ferry passengers stayed dry and safe as they walked along the 190-metre long pier.
