Ladies swing into golf action at Queenscliff

LADY golfers from across the region teed off at the 25th Annual Queenscliff Club Ladies Open Ambrose Competition last week.

Teams came from as far as Buninyong, Peterborough and the Victoria Golf Club, with 24 teams of four players in total.

The winners of the perpetual trophy, on a countback, with a nett score of 61 were the East Geelong team, comprising Shree Gevall, Lyn Thorley, Leanne McIntyre and Dianne Helis.

The Curlewis teams 1, 2 and 3 scooped the pool for the rest of the prizes.

The verdict for the day was “great course, great golf, a great lunch and we will be back next year”.

QGC’s next major event will be a fun family afternoon on Easter Sunday.

There will be music by Wendy Stapleton and friends, food and drinks for sale and an Easter Egg Hunt and putting competition for the kids.
