Ladies tee it up in Queenscliff

MORE than 85 lady golfers from across the region competed in the Queenscliff Open Ambrose last Friday, including a three-generations team from Inverleigh.

The Lonsdale team of Heather Perkins, Jo Cordner, Jude Mitchell and Alama Mills won the Best Nett4.

The Inverleigh team, a family affair of Deb Nicholls, Sacha Bruenjes, Angela Rogers and Angela’s 15-year-old daughter Ella, were awarded the Best Gross4 prize.

Watch out for budding youngster Ella, a member of the Barwon Sports Academy Squad and mentored by Womens Tour player and Vic Open winner Marianne Skarpnord.

The best verdict for the day was “great golf course, in particular fantastic greens, a delicious lunch and we will be back next year”.
