Learn about parenting children who worry
A SERIES of seminars in Barwon Heads will give parents the opportunity to learn about anxiety and strategies to help their child worry less.
Drummond street services Geelong will visit the Bellarine in July and August to run one of their most popular seminars and four-week groups – Parenting Children Who Worry.
Worry is a normal emotion but too much can impact your children’s sleep, schooling, peer and family relationships.
Finding good strategies to manage your own anxieties and teaching kids to recognise and understand emotions will help in many aspects of school and family life.
One parent who attended the course said: “I was able to take home and use so much from these four weeks and doing so has made a huge difference to our family. I believe this course is valuable to all parents, not just those with kids that worry, and I learnt so much to help all of my kids’ emotional wellbeing”.
The seminar and following four-week group will be held at Bop Bop Karrong Kindergarten, 2D Geelong Road, Barwon Heads.
The seminar will be held on July 24 between 2pm and 4pm, cost $10 per person or free with a HCC.
The group will meet on July 31, August 7, 14 and 21 between 2pm and 4pm, cost $10 per person total or free with a HCC.
If cost is an issue, please contact them and the fee can be waived.
If childcare is needed, please advise them and book early.
Bookings for the seminar and group can be made at ds.org.au under “Parenting groups & Events”.
