Leopold community celebrates Christmas with Caroloke

LOCALS at Gateway Plaza Leopold enjoyed some traditional carols with a fun twist at a “Caroloke” event last week.

Three community groups performed on Friday night, comprising the Geelong Harmony Chorus, Leopold Football and Netball Club and Pauline Greenwood Line Dancing School.

Organisers said all the competitors were fantastic, with Geelong Harmony Chorus taking out the $1,000 cash prize with a very polished a cappella performance of classic Christmas Carols.

A special mention went to the Leopold Football and Netball Club who had two young members perform their own unique community version of The “12 Days of Christmas”, which had the crowd singing along.

Event-goers also enjoyed delicious free samples from Schnitz, Hi Dumpling, Hi Sushi and Ollie’s Cafe.
