Libraries help access green tick

November 16, 2021 BY

Geelong Regional Libraries can help people access digital or printed copies of their COVID-19 vaccination certificate.

VACCINATED but having trouble getting the green tick?

Geelong Regional Libraries understands the challenges and has launched a free service to ensure every resident can access proof of their double COVID-19 vaccination.

GRLC board chair Cr Ron Nelson said navigating MyGov, Services Victoria and linking a vaccine certificate could be a difficult process “especially if you are not tech savvy”.

“Geelong Regional Libraries are running regular vaccination certificate help sessions at libraries around our network, where friendly library staff can help you to access your digital certificate or assist you to print a paper copy,” Cr Nelson said.

“Continuing to bridge the digital divide remains a priority for Geelong Regional Libraries, including support for basic digital citizenship and accessing government services online.

“These sessions are entirely free, and you can book online, call your local library, or simply pop in – you may have to wait a little in times of high demand, but our friendly team are here to help.”

Cr Nelson said the response from the community had “been excellent so far, with grateful feedback received”.

“In-line with Victorian Government requirements, any library visitors aged 16 years and above now need to show valid proof of double COVID-19 vaccination.

“Proof of vaccination can be provided by a COVID-19 digital certificate linked to your Services Victoria app or a valid physical certificate.

“A reminder that everyone, regardless of vaccination status, is welcome to use the library’s Click & Collect service, as well as access our vast eCollections.”
