LEOPOLD Lions Football Netball Club is calling for community donations to cover a $50,000 shortfall needed to buy equipment for its new redevelopment.

The 40-year-old sports pavilion is being redeveloped at a cost of $1,300,000 – $1,200,000 from the state government and $100,000 from the Leopold Community Bank. The project has started and should be completed by the middle of June.

However, this funding does not cover about $50,000 needed for equipment such as the new kitchen, bar, and gymnasium, and fitting out the building with new items of furniture, appliances, and utensils to offer comfortable and modern amenities for members and patrons.

LFNC is relying on its members and supporters to help raise the $50,000 by June, and has established a tax deductible building fund in conjunction with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF).

For donations $150 or more, a family name will be displayed in an appropriate manner in the Clubrooms as a lasting tribute to recognise support for the Building Fund.
