Literary lovers explore festival launch
BOOK lovers united to launch this year’s Queenscliffe Literary Festival at Queenscliff Brewhouse last week.
With the theme of “exploration”, author and special guest Sandy Mackinnon spoke about his humorous book The Unlikely Voyage of Jack De Crow.
The festival, which runs each weekend in May at various venues in Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale, includes performance, conversation, music, poetry, food, history, travel and crime with local, regional and interstate presenters.
The Opening Weekend will kick off with two dynamic, exciting Keynote Speakers addressing the breadth of humanity through the guise of the Bard, and the pleasure of leisure and travel.
New events for 2018 include a VCE Writing Prize for students on the Bellarine, and Death over Dinner – a conversation about life, not death with Ailsa Piper, Dr Leah Kaminsky and Caroline Baum.
