Little heroes to put on a fundraiser
A PAIR of passionate mothers have joined forces to put on a fundraiser next month for organisations close to their hearts.
The Help 4 Little Heroes evening is the brainchild of Emma Moore and Rebecca Seabert, who both have children with a number of complex health conditions.
The first event ran several years ago with Emma, as she wanted to give back to the organisations that helped her son Albie. This year, Ms Moore has partnered with Ms Seabert, who also wants to thank those who have helped her daughter Tulli.
“We always wanted to do something big for Albie’s birthday and we saw it as a good way to give back to those who have helped us,” Ms Moore said.
“We spent two months out of the first 12 in the children’s ward; so just that wanting to give back and acknowledge the people who had a big role in Albie’s life.”
Money raised from the event will be split between Kids Plus Foundation, the Royal Children’s Hospital and University Hospital Geelong, with more than $5,000 already raised through ticket sales and donations alone.
The evening will take place at The Federal in North Geelong, on August 18. Bay 93.9fm presenter Roxie Bennett will MC the evening, with entertainment also provided by Fully Loaded.
A live auction will also take place with auctioneer Terry Cleary from Ray White Lara, as well as a silent auction made possible by donations from local businesses.
Ms Moore and Ms Seabert run social media accounts documenting their children’s journeys as well as fundraising for their causes on Albie’s
Allies and In Tulli’s Shoes, respectively. Tickets are $50 per person and include finger food. To buy tickets, head to geelongtickets.com.au/event?id=7237.
