Local artists create some Christmas spirit

December 19, 2017 BY

QUEENSCLIFF artists and artisans are showcasing their skills while offering locally made gifts for Christmas.

The works are on display at Queenscliffe Neighbourhood House’s gallery, which was established in 2015 with the aim of providing new and emerging artists a space to exhibit their work.

Different exhibitions are displayed every month, with a Youth Arts Exhibition each September.

The Christmas Shop is an extension of the gallery program and has been running for two years.

Local artists and artisans are invited to contribute items to showcase their skills and provide an opportunity for the community to purchase locally made gifts for Christmas.

On sale this year are paintings, textile art, leadlight, knitted goods, silk scarves, jewellery, candles, greeting cards and more.

The works are on display and sale until Wednesday, December 13.

The Christmas Shop is at Queenscliffe Neighbourhood House, 3 Tobin Drive, between 10am and 4pm (closed Sundays).
