A COMING fashion show in Ocean Grove next month will raise funds for a dog shelter based in Bali, also bringing together local businesswomen in the area.

Organiser and Ocean Grove business owner (Beauty Queen Face & Body) Sarah Donaldson will host another local fashion event, following a similar initiative which took place in September last year.

Ms Donaldson said this year’s fashion show, which will take place on April 21 at Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club is gearing up for a great event, again featuring a fundraising element.

“It all started when my friend Leah Jett from Pinch Salt & Float in Ocean Grove, who is a massive dog rescuer and advocate, came up with the idea of raising funds for a shelter she has built in Bali named Gaia Dog Rescue,” Ms Donaldson said.

“She has close to 90 dogs at her shelter, so it’s a beautiful sanctuary and she has to pay the Balinese to run the place when she’s not there, and that’s how the fashion show will assist with.”

15 local Ocean Grove businesses have already committed to supporting the event.

Ms Donaldson is also keen to increase the headcount at next month’s show compared to her previous show, increasing the attendance capacity to 100 people from 75 last year.

“There will also be about 18 models who have put their hand up to participate as well thanks to Tarryn Stanley and Ocean Rental Boutique providing the wears.

“It’s going to be huge and with a network of local businesswomen it will also be a great display some of the marvellous women that reside here in this part of the Bellarine.”

On top of the fashion show, various raffle items will go up for sale as well as auction, while local musician Kim Cooper will provide quality music entertainment.
