Locals learn about wildlife at free info session
MORE than 35 people recently attended a free information evening in Ocean Grove that taught them about attracting wildlife, and cohabitating with them, in their backyard.
Margot Busch from Ocean Grove Coast Care said the two presenters of Caring for our Wildlife – The Backyard Basics provided very helpful information, such as putting baby birds back in nests will not cause their parents to reject them and leaving water out for birds and other backyard fauna is a highly useful thing to do.
Also, the Ocean Grove Men’s Shed makes a range of habitat boxes to suit the different creatures visiting backyards, and there is a list of local phone numbers to ring if you find injured wildlife.
The information evening was held at The Pavilion on Thursday February 28.
