About 30 people learnt more about Transition Towns at a meeting in Queenscliff at the weekend.

MORE than 30 people attended a meeting in Queenscliff at the weekend to learn more about sustainability.

Transition Towns is an initiative that brings neighbours together to support each other in reducing environmental impacts, while building more connected communities.

Transition Towns aims to help communities be more self-sufficient with food and energy production, while minimising waste.

Monica Winston from Transition Streets Geelong spoke at Queenscliff Town Hall on Saturday about what Transition Towns were implementing in other areas, environmental initiatives that already existed within the borough and to share ideas on how our towns could be more sustainable.

Organiser Brooke Connor said the meeting attracted a great turnout, with some really awesome ideas put forward.
