Love your bookgrove as part of national celebration
BOOKGROVE in Ocean Grove will boast a handful of local authors to help celebrate “Love Your Bookshop Day” this weekend.
Held annually on the second Saturday of August, the national celebration is a chance to celebrate what makes your local bookshop great by celebrating and promoting their value and their contributions to the local community and to Australian literature, culture and society and invites customers to return to or support their local bookshop.
It is held in hundreds of bookshops throughout Australia, where they are throwing a party for their amazing community.
At bookgrove on Saturday August 10, published author Jedda Robbard from Drysdale will celebrate the release of her wonderful new range of books with a story time at 11am.
Following that, bookgrove will celebrate locals who have self-published with a talk from school teacher Andy McNeilly, who will speak about how to connect with your kids at 2pm.
The maker of the incredible WONDER magazine for children, Tarah Smith, will be in attendance, and Annie who has produced a ZINE for teens, called Fierce Females.
Surf Coast author Mark Smith will be there at 4pm, along with an in-store music performance, champagne, raffle and prize draws.
Also, spend $50 in store to go into the draw to win a Hamper of Books!
Don’t forget to tag bookgrove using #loveyourbookshopday and #LYBD19 and share why your bookshop is special using the hashtag #whyIlovemybookshop.
Bookgrove is at 1/73 The Terrace, Ocean Grove.
