Making you feel right at home in Geelong
RIGHT at Home, Australia’s leading quality provider of home care and support, welcomes the Geelong office to the national network, with local owners Edwina Hill and Lacey McKenna ready to serve the Greater Geelong and Surf Coast region.
Long term Geelong locals, Edwina and Lacey have set up office at Shannon Avenue, Geelong West and have been providing in-home aged care services to the most vulnerable members of our community, whilst providing employment opportunities for carers locally.
They are actively recruiting, and as experienced registered nurses themselves, are already delivering clinical services to the community.
The reason for the rapid uptake in their services is that Edwina and Lacey live and breathe the Right at Home mission which is “to improve the quality of life for those they serve”.
Right at Home Geelong support people living with dementia and cognitive decline, disability, and those who have post-operative care needs, as well as all older Australians needing transport, domestic support and personal care to stay in their homes longer.
Right at Home Geelong can even provide Hospital-In-The-Home care when required.
Lacey was born and raised in Geelong. She completed her Bachelor of Nursing more than 20 years ago, beginning her career at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne in the cardiothoracic ward where she met Right at Home business partner Edwina Hill.
Lacey progressed to Associate Nurse Unit Manager before moving into Education and Learning, where she completed postgraduate studies in clinical education and delivered programs including mentoring for nursing students at St Vincent’s.
“I am now ready to channel my passion and expertise in nursing into building my own in-home care business together with Edwina,” she said.
“This decision is deeply personal as well as professional, having seen the profound difference quality in-home support can make.
“Through Right at Home Geelong, Edwina and I are committed to helping people live well, safely, and independently in their own homes, surrounded by the community they love and supported by a team they can truly trust.”
Edwina brings more than 20 years of nursing experience across public and private hospitals in both Melbourne and Geelong.
In 2011, she completed postgraduate studies in Intensive Care Nursing, earning a Certificate of Nursing (Intensive Care), which deepened her understanding of complex health needs and patient-centred care.
A couple of years ago, looking to step back from the hospital system, Edwina transitioned into a new role as a Practice Manager at an Allied Health provider, based in Geelong.
“This experience gave me valuable insight into the aged care sector and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). I found great purpose in helping clients navigate their care options and supporting them in achieving their full potential,” Edwina said.
“At the heart of our service are the values that have guided us throughout our careers — respect, empathy, and continuity of care.
“We’re honoured to bring the trusted Right at Home care model to the Geelong community and to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
“My family is a big part of why I’m so passionate about creating a supportive, client-focused care environment — one that values dignity, connection, and quality of life for every person we support.”
