Marchant opens Enabling Tourism Fund for 2024
BELLARINE MP Alison Marchant has launched the latest round of the Victorian government’s Enabling Tourism Fund to support more regional tourism opportunities.
The new round of funding, which opened for applications on Monday last week, will make up to $8 million available to create an abundance of new tourism infrastructure and more jobs.
The fund will be guided by five key priorities – First Peoples-led experiences, wellness, arts and culture, food and drink, and nature.
Ms Marchant said the fund would help deliver even better experiences for visitors to the local region.
“The Bellarine Peninsula is an amazing place to live and visit,” she said.
“We’re helping to get more local tourism projects off the ground, because with more local tourism, comes more local jobs.”
Grants between $20,000 and $50,000 are now open to tourism businesses, not for profits, Traditional Owner organisations, and more.
Funds will be provided using two streams: one providing support to test concepts or a large new infrastructure project, and the other to fund detailed design package, funding strategies and community engagement plans.
Applications for the Enabling Tourism Fund are open until March 28.
