MAYOR’S COLUMN: June 7, 2018
Council has been delighted by the number of people who have visited our Destination Queenscliff open house sessions to learn more about the draft concept plans for this exciting project.
We are inviting community feedback on the draft concept plans and have prepared a community survey to ensure that everybody has an opportunity to have their say. The community survey can be completed online on Council’s website, queenscliffe.vic.gov.au, or you can download a printable copy of the survey from our website or pick up a hard copy at Council’s offices at 50 Learmonth Street, Queenscliff.
Written feedback submissions to share ideas, suggestions and support for Destination Queenscliff are also very welcome.
Hard copy surveys and written feedback submissions should be addressed to Lenny Jenner, Chief Executive Officer, Borough of Queenscliffe and returned by email to [email protected], by post to PO Box 93, Queenscliff, 3225, or in person at Council’s offices.
Community feedback about Destination Queenscliff is invited until 4pm on Friday June 15.
If you have not had a chance to see the draft concept plans at one of our open house sessions, they can be viewed on council’s website and they are on display in the foyer of council’s offices.

We received a total of 9,758 kilograms of e-waste items at Council’s drop-off day this year, an increase of almost 18 per cent compared to last year’s event.
The e-waste received at the 2018 drop-off day was made up of:
- 5,741 kilograms of televisions and computer monitors
- 484 kilograms of hard drives, laptops and keyboards
- 1,681 kilograms of printers
- 70 kilograms of electrical cords/keyboards

Conservation Volunteers Australia foreshore works
Council would like to acknowledge the significant contribution made by Conservation
Volunteers Australia (CVA) to the good health of our foreshores in the Borough of Queenscliffe. Volunteers from CVA visit the Borough twice a week to plant trees, remove weeds and collect rubbish at foreshore areas in Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale.
To give you an idea of the positive impact of these works, CVA volunteers have planted 390 trees, removed weeds from 58,700 square metres of our foreshore and collected 568 kilograms of rubbish in the last financial year.
Council thanks CVA for their wonderful and generous contribution to the maintenance of our coastal environment
