Meet the candidates in Leopold Ward
TWO community organisations are hosting a meeting next week for the public to get to know the candidates standing in the Leopold Ward in the local council elections.
The Drysdale Clifton Springs Curlewis Association (DCSCA) and the Combined Bellarine Community Association (CBCA) will hold a “meet the candidates” event for the ward, part of the City of Greater Geelong.
Next week’s event is being promoted as a time for people in Leopold Ward – which includes the suburbs of Leopold, Curlewis and the western half of Drysdale – to ask questions as well as listen to the candidates’ policies, and to be informed before casting your compulsory postal vote.
The moderated forum will be open to all community members.
The City of Greater Geelong’s new electoral structure is shifting to 11 wards with one councillor each.
In Leopold Ward, the three candidates are (in ballot paper order):
- Shona McKeen
- David Lynch, and
- Trent Sullivan.
The DCSCA and CBCA “meet the candidates” event will be held at SpringDale Neighbourhood House, 22 High Street Drysdale on Wednesday, October 9 from 7pm.
