Merger floated between support organisations
THE BOARDS of two local community organisations have started a project to explore a potential merger.
MEGT Australia and gforce employment + recruitment believe a merger would better support the needs of local people, employers, communities, and their staff.
The boards believe the partnership could also provide strategic benefits for both organisations and provide greater scale, opportunity and ability to invest.
MEGT chair Peter Moore highlighted the benefits of the merger.
“MEGT and gforce are successful organisations that are respected in their communities,” he said.
“Our partnership combines the skills of our great teams who share the passion for helping people, and greater resources to support our innovation and growth.
“Together we will help even more people and more communities.”
MEGT and gforce plan to maintain local service delivery teams and serve clients under both identities in metropolitan, rural and
regional areas.
gforce chair Bill Mithen emphasised the complementary nature of the two organisations.
“MEGT and gforce share a common heritage and commitment to helping people,” Mr Mithen said.
“Through our merger we will better serve our existing communities and are excited to build new relationships.
“We look forward to bringing our strong community connections and benefiting from MEGT’s expertise and scale.”
The aim is for a merger decision to be announced by March 31, 2025.
