Moonlight Cinema by the Sea at Point Lonsdale
SUMMER might have passed but that doesn’t mean we have to retreat indoors just yet according to organisers of this weekend’s Moonlight Cinema at Point Lonsdale.
Astro Kid will be screening this Saturday, March 27, at a family-friendly outdoor cinema experience that is not to be missed
The English-language release of the French animated feature follows the plight of ten-year-old William following the destruction of his spaceship.
Separated from his parents, William’s rescue capsule lands on an unfamiliar planet where he must navigate many perils. But it’s also where he befriends Buck the robot and a quirky alien named Flash.
The movie will screen on a large five-metre-high cinema screen at Town Park and if that’s not enough to get you excited the fact that it’s a free event with both complimentary popcorn and Italian gelato should do the trick.
Event organisers, Moremac Property Group, advise attendees to get in early to “secure a spot and a bean bag” before they all go.
Sales and Marketing Manager Lachlan Moore said The Point is a very engaged and close-knit community built around an outdoor lifestyle.
“We wanted to create an event to send off summer, celebrate the last of the warm evenings and bring the area together to socialise and have fun.”
“It’s a beautiful spot right by the water and so an outdoor cinema is the perfect way to enjoy the scenery.” The annual event is free but requires prior registration. All ticket holders must present their ticket on the day of the event.
Food trucks including popular event favourites ‘Pasta Face’ and ‘Nem N’ Nem’ will be on site.
“The beef ragu, truffle chips and cheese croquettes are on my sights – but there will be options for our vegan and vegetarian guests too,” Mr Moore said.

The event is located at Town Park, 23 Coquina Dr, Point Lonsdale VIC 3225. Entry starts at 6:30pm and the movie commences at 7:30pm.
