THE Beaufort Municipal Brass Band will perform in Portarlington this weekend as part of the town’s regular Rotunda concert series.
Under music director Carlye Rogan, the band’s program will include a mix of popular, contemporary and classic pieces showcasing its distinctive brass sound.
Since 2023, Portarlington has hosted visiting brass bands for free community concerts at the foreshore Rotunda.
Portarlington Community Information Booth president and series promoter Phil Camerson said the events highlighted local and regional musical talent.
“These free musical concerts are a wonderful way to appreciate the talent within these community and school-based bands,” he said.
“The musicians are all volunteers who really enjoy their music and performing to appreciative audiences. Either sitting in the covered area on the Rotunda Forecourt or the outdoor cafes and Grand Hotel balcony provides a memorable experience.”
The band will perform on Saturday at 11am and again at 1pm.
It will also play at Bellarine Estate Winery on Sunday from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
The concert series is sponsored by Community Bank Bellarine.
