The mussel festival needs you
PLANNING is well under way for next year’s Portarlington Mussel Festival and organisers are on the search for more volunteers.
The festival, which will take place on January 13, promises to be better than ever.
But the festival can’t happen without help from the entire community.
Volunteers make the festival possible, by providing traffic control, clean-up, visitor assistance, help at the gates, and everything else that makes it go.
This is a great chance to meet people, make a contribution, and have some fun.
The festival committee is also looking for someone to help out with marketing, in terms of managing sales of various items on the day.
Another way to get involved is through advertising in the festival brochure.
The brochure will be handed out to all visitors at the festival – nearly 30,000 attended in 2016.
If you would like to volunteer, or have experience in retail and display and would like to be involved, phone Raeleen on 0407 430 282 or email [email protected].
For more information about advertising in the festival brochure, email Michael McAlister at [email protected] or phone 0488 328 384.
The Mussel Festival is an important day for Portarlington, and anyone who has attended knows how much it brings to the community.
