Napona to sling final pizzas and wine
A MUCH-LOVED Ocean Grove restaurant will sling its final pizzas, steaks and decadent wines this weekend.
After 13 and a half years in the old fire station at 24 Hodgson Street, the owners of local favourite Napona are shutting their doors.
In a statement on Napona’s Facebook page, owners Will and Kristy said they had chosen not to continue with the lease of the property for a multitude of reasons, including economic forecasts, and a desire to explore different opportunities and give more priority to their young family.
They said closing down Napona certainly came with a touch of sadness.
“We cannot express enough gratitude for the relationships we’ve built over the years with customers, our suppliers, and all our awesome staff.
“We’ve watched families grow, staff grow from kids to adults, made friends and had some truly great times.”
The restaurant will be open for dinner tonight (Friday, July 12) and tomorrow from 5.30pm.
“We would love to see you for one last dinner, wine or take away pizza.
“We’d love the opportunity to show our appreciation for your support over the years.”
Community members weighed in on social media over the past week to pay tribute to the restaurant.
