A DYNAMIC new duo will lead the Drysdale Football Club off the field in 2024.

At its annual general meeting last month, the Hawks elected club stalwart Trevor Hume and former women’s co-ordinator Jessica Case as its new president and vice president respectively.

The pair take over from outgoing president David Walder and vice-president Peter Preece.

Mr Hume has spent more than 20 years at Drydale, including as a player, a coach for junior, youth and reserves grade football and as a sponsor.

The Drysdale local said he was over the moon to leading the club in season 2024.

“I am so very humbled and honoured to be given the opportunity to serve the Drysdale Football Club as president.

“I would sincerely like to thank and recognise the outstanding efforts of the outgoing president David Walder, vice-president Peter Preece, secretary Jennie Deckker and treasurer Daniel Hopgood who have all made significant contributions to our club.

“I am very excited to work alongside our committee, sponsors, members and supporters into the future.

“Go Hawks!”

Ms Case has served as the senior women’s football program coordinator for the last five years.

She also pulled on the boots for the club during the past few seasons, but will sit out the 2024 season as she fulfills her new role.

“I’m very excited – It’s such a privilege to be serving the Drysdale Football Club in this capacity,” Ms Case said.

“I’ll be the club’s first female vice-president, which adds an even more special element to it.

“We can’t wait to continue to strengthen our relationships with our volunteers, our club people, our players, our families and our sponsors.

“Drysdale is such a community, so it’s really important we understand what’s going on both on and off the field.

“We certainly got a taste of getting close to success in the men’s football in 2023 and we are certainly not done!”

Ms Case said the major focus for season 2024 will the amalgamation of Drysdale’s football and netball clubs.

“Currently they are separate entities, so we will be working really hard to bring the clubs together.

“The netball club are a fantastic group, so we can’t wait to work with them closely.

“By coming together, it will make us an even stronger and more united team for season 2025 and beyond.”
