New look for iconic Queenscliff pub

AN EXTENSIVE and transformative renovation has one of Queenscliff’s top venues in tip-top shape ahead of a busy peak tourism period.

The former Bellarine Hotel/Queenscliff Brewhouse has returned to its old alias, The Esplanade Hotel, and is ready to make its mark on the Bellarine hospitality scene.

The venue has stood proudly in the heart of Queenscliff since 1879 and has become a fan favourite for its relaxed vibe and delicious fare.

Its newly designed fresh, seasonal menu has been curated with the coast in mind, with local produce paired alongside traditional pub classics and share plates.

From half scallops with finger lime hollandaise and pink peppercorn, to harissa lamb skewers with smoky eggplant, and juicy burgers, there is something to please any appetite.

 

Inside the venue, the character of a true coastal pub awaits, with warm timber finishes complemented by hues of blue and green throughout.

The revamped beer garden is ideal for those looking to enjoy a buzzing social spot and a family-friendly space with native landscaping.

The area boasts large TVs for live sport, picnic-style tables and umbrellas and an expanded kids play area.

The Sports Bar is also sure to be a favourite, with its walls of TV screens, a pool table, casual high-top tables and open fireplace.

Venue manager Mitch Kovacic said the team was very excited to re-open the doors to the beautiful pub.

 

“Our local legend has gotten a new lease on life, and we know our locals will love it — the buzz in the area has been awesome in the lead up to today!”

To celebrate the opening, The Esplanade Hotel will host a huge Locals Weekend from Friday, October 10 to Sunday, October 12.

The first drink will be free and there will be live music, kids entertainment, charity raffles, giveaways and more.

The venue will also boast weekly specials and entertainment lineups.
