A NEW market has swept through the town of Ocean Grove, showcasing a collection of pre-loved goods, and gently used items, while gathering an abundance of interest following its first day of operation.

The town’s inaugural Pre-Loved Market Day attracted hundreds of eager marketgoers to Ocean Grove’s Trak Arcade last Sunday.

Close to 300 residents and visitors checked out Sunday’s market.

Market organiser Sarah Donaldson said a wide range of pre-loved items were sold on the day with each stallholder pocketing on average more than $500.

Items on display included anything from vintage clothing and collectibles to home decor and accessories.

“We received a lot of good feedback from residents on the day, and question as to why someone hadn’t done this kind of market before,” Ms Donaldson said.

“Many of our stallholders have already indicated that they’re keen to come back and it’s a really good use of the space too. The market really brought it to life.

“As our community’s first event of this kind, it not only encourages sustainable shopping practices but also fosters a sense of unity and connection among our residents.”

L-R: Torquay resident Justine Inglis and Ocean Grove’s Michelle Nash ran a stall at the market on Sunday.

Ms Donaldson said the market will be held on the last Sunday of each month moving forward, allowing locals to get involved and plan ahead.

There is a waiting list of 40 people hoping to join the market in the future, but anyone eager to register interest in joining can do so by emailing Ms Donaldson at [email protected]
