New year, new home and new activities for Leopold centre

February 6, 2019 BY

Tristan, Mary, Pippa, Kerrie and Sue from the Leopold Neighbourhood House and Community Learning Centre are looking forward to a Community Kitchen starting.

IT’S a new year for Leopold Neighbourhood House and Community Learning Centre, which has moved into a new home and is offering new activities.

The centre has re-opened after moving from Ash Road before Christmas to be part of the Leopold Hub.

The new facilities are co-located and upstairs from the library, and alongside the Leopold Senior Citizens.

While the centre is still offering many of its previous programs such as drawing, scrabble, and the popular Technology Tea Room –  which is designed to assist seniors with their digital devices, smartphones, tablets, and computers – the New Year kicks off with some new programs on offer such as Tai Chi, Community Kitchen and Student Theatre Classes.

There are many classes being offered for all age groups and interests, and a health and wellbeing component to keep you fit and healthy with Tai Chi, Yoga and meditation, which is proving to be popular; to reserve your place call and make a booking.

Get your Granny On looks at those skills in the kitchen and around the home such as sauces and preserves; and bread making and feta cheese – a bit of nostalgia and tasty and useful skills that are sure to be a hit with everyone.

Leopold Neighbourhood House invites community members to come down for a visit and check them out at the Kensington Road Hub.
