THE Ocean Grove Community Association will reevaluate its future later this year following wavering committee membership numbers.

At its Annual General Meeting earlier this year, secretary Phil Edwards said the association might soon get to a point where it is not viable without “new blood and new ideas”.

“Sadly our committee membership is wavering,” Mr Edwards said.

“We intend to review where we stand at the end of 2018 and make a decision on the future of the association.”

Mr Edwards said the association had been a little less busy during 2017-18, but had discussed and responded to a number of issues that had or would have an impact on the Ocean Grove community.

He said in regards to the Grubb Road duplication, latest advice from VicRoads was that they expected to complete their Planning Study by December 31 2018 and then proceed to some form of community consultation.

“The Ocean Grove Community Association will be lobbying the current state government Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville and the other candidates for the seat for commitment to funding this important road work,” he said.

Mr Edwards said the association also wanted to energise a community-driven project to refurbish the existing walking track from Grubb Road to the Nature Reserve, built by the Rotary Club of Ocean Grove many years ago, which was now overgrown.

The AGM report was written by the secretary instead of chairperson Michael Harbour, who was absent due to ill health.
