A LOCAL business owner is celebrating after hitting the one-year mark at a Bellarine hospitality venue.

Miss Buzz took over Sirens Boathouse and Kiosk at St Lenoards Pier in November last year, turning it into an espresso bar.

Owner Casey Hurst had been running Miss Buzz from her van, as well as her sister business Miss Fizz for the past five years when she took on the space.

“Events have been slower the last year so when I saw Sirens Kiosk come up as an opportunity, I jumped on it.

“It was my goal to find a permanent location for my van setup, so this just made sense; I could have a permanent spot and still do events.”

The kiosk celebrated the milestone with the community, giving away free mini cookies with each drink, double loyalty points and a draw to win a month of free coffees.

Casey Hurst took on the space after running her business out of a van.

Over the past year, the business has gained loyal regulars and perfected its menu and offerings, knowing what customers want.

Ms Hurst said the time has flown by and it’s been so much more than what she was expecting.

“It’s such a huge achievement, I feel like we are just getting started and we just opened yesterday.”

Ms Hurst said she has a small team working with her that make it all possible and make heading into work a joy.

“The best part is bringing joy into people’s days and providing them with good quality coffee, the best jaffles and friendly service that I know they will be back for.”

The kiosk is open from 8.30am, Thursday to Monday.
