Performers audition for Port community carols

PLANNING for the annual Portarlington Community Carols 2019 has started, with auditions recently conducted and a successful grant application.
A small group of committed Portarlington locals scoured the region for the best local talent they could find, and hosted auditions the weekend before last.
Julie Rock from the Portarlington Community Carols Committee said she received a great response from potential performers after posting on Facebook, and that the carols would also include several local vocalists and a band in the line-up, who were unable to make it.
Ms Rock said the carols committee was also successful with a grant application through the Portarlington Golf Club.
“This means we can cover our cost and ensure this local community event continues.
“We feel very supported by the local community.”
The Portarlington Community Carols 2019 will be held on the Portarlington foreshore on December 19.
