GEELONG photographer Craig Watson will exhibit his Look Deeper collection for the first time this Easter long weekend.
The exhibition will be on show at the Barwon Heads Arts and Community Hub.
“I have been a working photographer for nearly 40 years, and after a series of life changes two years ago, embarked on a new project to photograph local buildings, scenes and events in a unique and intriguing style,” Watson said.
“Each photograph is a multiple exposure of up to ten exposures onto a single sheet of large-format film. The result is often a bit of a visual assault, but the deeper you look into the image the more you discover.”
He said the integrity of photography had suffered with the advent of digital imaging and AI.

“Often great photos are brushed off as being fake, while at the same time people are tricked into believing fake images are real.
“By shooting on large-format film, I am able to prove the integrity of the photo and show it is exactly as captured in-camera, with no digital editing and no AI involvement.”
It will be Watson’s fourth solo exhibition, and the 12 new photos will accompanied by a mix of his best work from across his career.
Look Deeper, at the Barwon Heads Arts and Community Hub in Clifford Avenue, will be open from tomorrow (Saturday, April 19) to Monday, April 21 from 10am to 5pm.
