Pinot makes for an affair to remember
WINE LOVERS will be able to sample some of the regions finest Pinot Noir during a new event set to take place in Geelong on May 27.
“A Pinot Affair” will see more than 20 local producers showcase their world-class cool climate Pinot Noir from across the Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast and Moorabool Valley.
Geelong’s newly rejuvenated West End precinct in Lt Malop Street will serve as the perfect backdrop for wine connoisseurs to take part in tastings.
“The event will offer the perfect day out for the wine enthusiast to enjoy the finest of Geelong’s Pinot Noir all under one roof,” Wine Geelong president Scott Austin said.
“With more than 20 producers from across the Geelong region offering tastings, patrons will also be treated to live music within an elegantly styled marquee complemented by gorgeous floral displays by local business, Bloom College.
“Wine Geelong values bringing the community together and this event will be a pass-in-and-out event, allowing ticket-holders to enjoy the array of trendy restaurants and eateries in Lt Malop Street.”
Mr Austin said the day would be a fantastic event for “our wine region” and Geelong in general, which is becoming an “incredible destination.”
“We are lucky enough to boast some of the best Pinot Noir in Australia, including Bellarine Peninsula drop Yes Said The Seal, which took out the Australian Pinot Challenge Award in 2017,” Mr Austin said.
“We’ve also been working with several other Geelong organisations to deliver the event, with students from St Joseph’s College to deliver the wooden exhibitor stands.”
This one-day event will take place on May 27 from 11am until 4pm with tickets limited and inclusive of a commemorative glass plus unlimited Pinot Noir tastings.
Wine will also be available by the glass, with bottles and cases available for purchase on the day.
