Polar Express gathers steam

EXPERIENCE the magic of Christmas on the Bellarine as the Polar Express returns next weekend.

The train ride is an immersive family-friendly experience, based on Chris Van Allsburg’s picture book, The Polar Express.

The book tells the story of a boy who takes a magical Christmas Eve train ride to the North Pole.

Led by a cast of talented actors, the Bellarine train adventure begins the moment the train departs the station with the movie soundtrack playing and passengers reliving the magic of the story.

Throughout the 90-minute journey, a chocolate drink and biscuits will be served by the Polar Express chefs.

At the end, a visit from Santa will bring each child a silver bell, the first gift of Christmas.

The Polar Express Train Ride has entertained riders at 85 locations in the US, Canada, UK and Australia, hosting nearly 1.8 million riders in 2024.

New this year, passengers also have the chance to choose their own carriages, with different options for different passenger groups and those who want to experience the ride in their own space.

Families are encouraged to embrace the magic and wear their favourite pyjamas.

The Polar Express will run at the Bellarine Railway from December 6 until December 21.
