Police investigate car found in Portarlington bay

Portarlington residents were greeted by an unusual sight on Sunday morning when a white SUV was found partially submerged in the bay.

The empty vehicle, believed to be a Mitsubishi, was discovered just after 3.30am several metres out from the Steeles Rock boat ramp on The Boulevard.

Police responded to reports of a car in the water on Sunday, with officers later seen at the scene at about 8.10am.

The circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
