Popular art extravaganza to return to the Bellarine
The Rotary Club of Ocean Grove is pleased to again host its popular Art Show for the 12th edition this November.
The art show, located at Point Lonsdale Primary School Hall, is on Melbourne Cup weekend (November 4 and 5) and will showcase top artworks and creatives from across the Bellarine.
The event will engage, cultivate and educate diverse audiences about the arts, while raising vital funds for charities of which the Rotary Club of Ocean Grove support.
This year, the proceeds from the commission of the sale of works will be divided between Riding for the Disabled Association, the Disabled Surfer’s Association and other smaller charities in need.
$10,000 of prize money will also be up for grabs for the winners, making the event one of the most lucrative art shows in the area to date.
Artworks are currently being sought in the categories of Painting, Printing, Drawing, Australian Flora and Fauna and Abstract/Semi-Abstract.
Ocean Grove Art Show secretary Alison George said she was very excited to see the breadth of entries in 2023.
“With so many talented people on the Bellarine Peninsula, we think it is important that we support our artists.
“We advertise widely so an artist benefits from exposure with a wide range of talented exhibitors, secure in their own category as once again the show is included in this year’s Arts Trail.”
The top prize for best work of art will be $2,500 and can come from any of the five major disciplines.
Entries close both online and posted on October 20 at 5pm.
The exhibition will have an official opening on November 3 inside the Pt Lonsdale Primary School Function Centre.
Winners will be announced at the event.
