Popular Portarlington hospitality spot up for grabs
A PRIME location within Portarlington’s hospitality precinct is up for grabs with the site’s land managers accepting applications for a new lease of up to 10 years.
Bellarine Bayside’s Portarlington Foreshore Café will take in new tenants from December 1 with the local coastal land managing body currently taking in expressions of interest up until July 19 at 4pm.
“We are excited to offer a new lease and licence for the Portarlington Foreshore Café,” Bellarine Bayside planning and environment manager Scott Crabtree said.
“We are committed to providing visitors with a high-quality food and beverage offering.
“It’s a fantastic site at the heart of the Portarlington foreshore adjacent to the pier and ferry service.
“We want the foreshore to be a key attraction for visitors and the community.”
The site is less than 100m from the Portarlington Pier, providing benefits for tourists, fishermen and passengers on the Portarlington Ferry service.
Now trading as Pier St café, the building’s five-year lease will run out on November 30, making the waterfront location with outdoor dining available for the new lease to start at the start of December.
Bellarine Bayside stated it will be guided by the Leasing Policy for Victorian Crown Land 2023 and invites new and existing service providers to apply.
“The primary purpose of the building will be a café-restaurant or other similar food-related service with the opportunity to also conduct a tourism service related to the harbour as an ancillary function subject to negotiation with the Committee.”
All applicants must attend mandatory site visits in line with the leasing application process. To book, email [email protected]
All expressions of interest can be submitted by visiting the ‘leases and licenses’ section at bellarinebayside.com.au
No late applications will be accepted.
