Portarlington Community Bank celebrates 20th birthday

PORTARLINGTON Community Bank’s 20th birthday celebrations proved a great success last week, with community group displays, cheque presentations, entertainment and a giant cake on offer.
Held at Parks Hall on Friday, the event featured community groups which had benefited from Portarlington Community Bank grants in the past.
They included the Lions Club, St Leonards Men’s Shed, Indented Head and St Leonards sailing schools, Portarlington Girl Guides, Portarlington Neighborhood House – Art Group, Bellarine Quilters, wood working group, CFA and SES.
Senior Branch Manager Chris Niven also presented $250,000 to the Bellarine Bayside Playground project, which was accepted by Melanie Rogers, $5,681.50 to the Portarlington Cricket Club, accepted by Peter Evans, and $5,169.89 to the Portarlington Demons Football Netball Club, which was accepted by Linda Shaw.
On November 1, the Portarlington Community Bank celebrated with its community, management, staff and directors who had all contributed to the success of the company, which today has more than $325 million in business and has contributed more than $1.6 million into community groups, clubs and events, while returning a healthy dividend to shareholders.
