THE renovated Portarlington Grand Hotel aims to throw open its doors in December, and the business is looking for as many as 50 staff to help bring it to life.

The Little Group, which recently bought the hotel, says it holds strong values on delivering good old-fashioned customer service and true hospitality.

“We are on the hunt for people with the right attitude,” venue manager Mark Henderson said.

“Not all applicants will require experience in the industry as we will provide all the support and training they need.

“Our team aspires to provide the best customer service possible, and our staff will be proud to showcase the region, including the food, wine and produce, while being part of a team that knows how to work hard while having a heap of fun.

“We want people that will be proud to help us make the Portarlington Grand Hotel grand again.”

There are a range of benefits on offer when joining this new team, with job opportunities varying from kitchen, front of house, hotel reception, housekeeping and even pizza chefs.

The company is committed to extensive training before reopening to give all staff the skills and confidence they require to perform their roles.

The Portarlington Grand Hotel team is encouraging applications from candidates from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.

As the hotel is part of the Little Group, there are also opportunities for further development and career advancement.

“I feel incredibly fortunate to be working for the Little Group over the past four-and-a-half years,” marketing co-ordinator Connie Trathen said.

“I love the variety of things I get to experience in my role and that’s all because of the vision this company has created.

“I cannot wait to meet our new team members and help them in creating exceptional experiences for our guests.”

Tourism Greater Geelong and The Bellarine executive director Brett Ince said the Portarlington Grand Hotel refurbishment was a “game changer” for the northern Bellarine, and would offer a quality level of accommodation that allowed visitors to spend longer in the region to enjoy the products and experiences that have developed over the recent years.
