PUK concert to feature world class musicians

A J Leonard - one of the world's best on uke – will perform at the Portarlington Ukulele Kollective’s annual concert on September 29.

ONE of Australia’s pioneer ukulele players will highlight the Portarlington Ukulele Kollective’s annual concert later this month.

A J Leonard (a multi-instrumentalist, arranger and recording artist) and Jenny Rowlands (a deftly accomplished cello player) will play amazingly intricate arrangements in chamber pop style, island swing and Christmas.

The Montgomery Brothers’ Ryo Montgomery, also a world class ukulele player, and finger picking Guitarist, Maru “The Clock” Nitor-Zammataro is on drums, along with Warrigo “Thunder Thumb” Tyrrell on guitar and bass.

These musicians are hailed as the best young blues band in Australia, and they play fantastic Latin jazz, blues, soul and rock ‘n’ roll.

Enjoy an amazing night of fascinatin’ rhythms – come along and be inspired, enlightened and entertained!

The Ukulele Extravaganza Concert! is at Portarlington Senior Citizens Hall, Newcomb Street in Portarlington (opposite the Pub), on September 29 from 7.30-10pm.
